Up to Something Magical is a forthcoming 2 piece enamel pin collection. Originally designed as a "Witchstarter" pin set, Halloween was already happening by the time the campaign was ready. Instead of worrying about how popular the designs might be after Halloween, I woke up on November 1st and, instead of starting a new novel for National Novel Writing Month that I had already been kicking around, I ended up writing and expanding on the little story surrounding the two pins. I wrote 1,796 words on Day 1 of the 50,000 words in the month of November challenge called NaNoWriMo. Within a few more days, it became even more apparent that I wanted to write this story, have fun pin designs based on the story... and start to work on a game with these characters.
I released the first chapter of The Witch of Mischief just before the start of 2024. The Kickstarter campaign will happen this year at some point in October for the novel and enamel pins!

The Witch of Mischief & Maddy on the Moon: A Tale of Two Pins
Meet the Witch of Mischief
She is no ordinary raccoon; she is the Witch of Mischief, a mythical, colorful raccoon captured here in enamel pin form. While her true name is not known, she is known for her cunning schemes, spells, and potions. She's seen here carefully crafting a very complicated teleportation brew. But why is she portrayed in this pin in the middle of crafting this special elixir? To bring Maddy back to Earth, of course!
Maddy on the Moon
You see, Maddy the rabbit accidentally ended up on the moon while returning from her Rocket Mischief adventure. The Witch of Mischief had tried to summon her like a familiar, but after a little time went by, the Witch looked up into the night sky and spotted her sprawled on the moon! Maddy had found the celestial body so peaceful that she decided to take a little nap instead of making it all the way to her destination. Our Witch of Mischief is hard at work to ensure she has enough of her potion to teleport to the moon, give Maddy a potion, and both return safely. We'll see how that goes, though, because between you and me, Maddy seems quite content up there.
